One advantage for the end user is there's just one manual download to find which will then allow us access to whatever version we need. I think it's nice we don't have to live with a bug or lack of a minor tweak for a year as we would with other similar software solutions. And, unlike other vendors, Macrium updates build numbers very frequently.

I'm not sure what Macrium's thoughts are on it, but as I see it one major advantage for them is that they don't have to upload multiple versions of a new (and large) install file to every site which offers their program for download every time they update to a new build. It was confusing and odd for me at first, but I've come to appreciate it more. The "download-a-downloader" method is something I hadn't run into until I used Reflect. This is why I've come to the conclusion I've outlined. Before posting I did try downloading the downloader and using it and it worked for me. Please note that in my home country it is nasty to fail without at least dropping a message in the application event log.Ĭould your antivirus software and/or firewall type software be blocking the download? The first thing I'd try is disabling this type of software temporarily while you conduct the download. Why, why, why? Why can't you just provide a link to the installation package? I really hate these download-a-downloader-installations. After pasting the license number and clicking "Download", "Download information" changes for the fraction of a second, then all is like before and nothing's downloading anything.
